Activity

I have completed 80 reports on liability and causation at the instruction of solicitors in the past 3 years. I have been instructed approximately equally by solicitors acting for the Defence and for the Prosecution. The majority of my work is in civil cases, but criminal cases constitute approximately 5% of my instructions.

Turn-around time & fee structure

I currently expect to deliver a completed report on liability and causation within eight weeks of receipt of the relevant documentation (or earlier by prior arrangement). All correspondence and reports are sent by post and by email.

Reports are billed at an hourly rate, which includes time spent reading the records, researching and preparing the report. Attendance at meetings and at court is billed at the same hourly rate. Please email me for my current hourly rate.

I am prepared to provide preliminary reports for claimants who are contemplating litigation; these reports allow an informed decision on whether to pursue litigation. They are billed as a capped fee (currently as two hours at my hourly rate); this fee is subtracted from that invoiced later if a formal report to the court is required.
